A word from Gladys DeVilliers

Welcome to my page dedicated to genealogy and a variety of related files,
pertaining to the search for, and preservation of, our heritage.

I have granted the Acadian Ancestral Home permission to post my work on this site.

An original of the 1781 census of the Attakapas District owned by Beverly Theriot shows the following information, which may only be used privately. This census may not be used on other web sites, however links are encouraged.

Each name heads one line, followed by the number of individuals in the household, the number of animals, and the arpents of land. I realize that this may not be the optimum way to view these records, but it’s the quickest for me to get you the information.
